A New Day for the Nasty Nimitz
FREMONT, Calif. (KCBS) -- After months of construction, carpools lanes on Interstate 880 between Fremont Boulevard in San Leandro all the way to Highway 237 opened on Thursday.
A spokeswoman for Caltrans told KCBS reporter Matt Bigler the high occupancy vehicle lanes should shave about 10 minutes off the commute in either direction during carpool hours.
